The name Nuu-chah-nulth means “people along the islands.” Coming from a renowned family of carvers known for their vibrant totem poles, Harvey began carving as a boy and later expanded into working with silver and gold. His metalwork reflects the distinctive graphic style of both his family and the Nuu-chah-nulth people.
