Jim Yelton (Coast Salish) is primarily self-taught, with initial guidance from his father. He began carving at the age of twelve. Over his career, he has collaborated with Coast Salish artists such as Floyd Joseph, Marvin Baker, Eric Baker, and Tony Yelton. He is renowned for his intricate talking sticks and striking carvings. Jim resides in Sechelt, BC.
