Richard Krawchuk was born in 1956 in Squamish, British Columbia. His father is of Ukranian decent, and his mother is Coast Salish. The family moved to North Vancouver where Richard spent his youth attending school. Richard then moved to Britannia Beach in 1987 and in 1995 again moved to the Fraser Valley.

His first carved at the age of 15. Although he was basically self-taught, Marvin Baker was a great influence. Richard has been carving full time since 1986 and is recognized for the quality of his work.

Richard likes to carve eagles, bears, wolves, loons, and other animals that are found locally and have a place in Native legend. He also likes to carve Chiefs and welcome men.

Richard’s work is frequently sought out by serious collectors, and his carvings can be found in collections all over the world.

This is a lovey fine carved piece with smooth finish.
