About the Artist
Norman Seaweed was born in Alert Bay on Vancouver Island's northeastern coast, representing the Kwagiulth Nation. Trained in jewelry carving under Lloyd Wadhams in 1978, Norman's artistic journey began withdrawing before evolving into wood carving and metalwork. His mastery of silver and gold is complemented by his brothers Alfred, Paddy, and Rodney, who are all accomplished silver carvers, continuing a family legacy of exceptional craftsmanship.
