Born in 1972 in Nanaimo, Gino Seward is a member of the Kwakwaka'wakw Nation. He began carving at the tender age of ten and has honed his skills for over twenty years. Gino credits his grandfather, William Robertson, and his cousin, Jackson Robertson, as his carving inspirations. He especially enjoys working with yellow cedar and is celebrated for his deep and detailed carving technique.
