Burton Amos, born in 1963, is a renowned artist from the Haisla (Xa-Isla) tribe, known for collaborating with other artists such as Lyle Wilson (Kwakwaka'wakw/Haisla), Philip Gray (Tsimshian/Cree), and Mike Dangeli (Nisga'a/Tlingit/Tsimshian). In addition to carving, Burton is also involved in writing, poetry, photography, and documentaries, all of which contribute to his exploration of his cultural heritage.
