Born in 1980 in Alert Bay, BC, Ben Isaac has dedicated much of his life to creating traditional Kwakwaka'wakw art with a unique personal style. Raised in the rich cultural and artistic environment of Alert Bay, he drew inspiration from his uncle, Eugene Isaac, an accomplished artist known for his impressive collection of original paintings and limited-edition prints. Alongside his uncle, Ben was also influenced by other family members, including Terry Isaac, Benjamin Isaac, and his late grandmother, Laura Cook.
This is a double-sided carved yellow cedar paddle, painted on both sides, which makes it truly unique.
