Raven Steals the Light
Raven Steals the Light
Product Type: Carving
Brian Bob's native name, Qwuyutsapool, is derived from the Nuu-Chah-Nulth language, translating to 'Policer of the Wolves' in English.
Brian's work pays tribute to the heritage of both his parents. His mother, Fran Touchie, hails from the Nuu-Chah-Nulth nation, known for their traditional whaling practices using dugout canoes along the rugged West Coast of Vancouver Island. With deep respect and honor for his father, Wilson Bob, the hereditary chief of the Snaw-naw-as (Nanoose Bay) Nation, Brian is inspired to humbly reconnect with native teachings.
Utilizing wood, gold, and silver, Brian embodies the essence of Northwest Coast Native Art in his creations.
This exceptional vintage red cedar Raven Steals the light plaque, adorned with a stunning patina, was masterfully carved during the early stages of Brian's career and boasts impressive dimensions of 25 inches by 5.5 inches by 1 inches.
