Sprit of Renewal

“Spirit of Renewal” is Rachel Smith’s first limited edition silk screen print. Inspired by themes of renewal, regeneration, and transformation, the artwork features salmon trout head and salmon egg designs, symbolizing the transition between spirit and physical form, and vice versa.

Smith views the salmon’s life cycle as a powerful symbol of regeneration through birth and death. The piece illustrates the spawning cycle, with circles representing gravel rock beds where salmon lay their eggs. Vibrant electric blue and navy hues celebrate birth and renewal, while white evokes the ethereal, mysterious, and transient nature of life.

Each print was hand-produced, signed by the artist, and is the only limited edition of this design. All trial copies and printing stencils were destroyed, ensuring its uniqueness.
