T046B1B, affectionately known as "Tl'uk" (pronounced tuh-LUKE), was an approximately 3-year-old male West Coast transient killer whale, celebrated for his striking and rare white coloration. While the exact cause of his unusual appearance remained a mystery to researchers, it was believed that Tl'uk had leucism, a condition encompassing various disorders that result in partial loss of pigmentation in animals. The suspected source of his leucism was Chédiak–Higashi Syndrome, the same rare genetic disorder responsible for the distinctive coloration of another famous whale, Chimo. Tl'uk’s unique look made him an unforgettable and extraordinary presence in the wild.
