This is an impressively large, signed portrait mask measuring 19" x 12" x 12". Although it has undergone restoration, it remains a remarkable piece. We have dated it to the 1950s-60s.
Matthew Amos (1925-1969), son of Alexander Matthew Amos, a fisherman, and Rose Mary Amos Tseshalt, was a member of the Nuu-chah-nulth people.
