Bear Plaque

Roger Johnnie, of Coast Salish heritage, was born in Nanaimo, British Columbia, in 1984. As a young boy, he enjoyed watching his uncle, renowned artist Francis Horne, carve. In his teenage years, he developed a deeper interest in the art forms of his ancestors, learning to carve under the guidance of established artist Jackson Robinson. He later refined his skills through studies with Gino Seward. While Roger primarily carves plaques, he has expanded his repertoire to include masks and sculptures.

This vintage bear plaque is intricately carved from yellow cedar and finished with a rich dark brown stain, giving it a striking and appealing look. Measures 12" x 9" x 3/4"
